Giuseppe has more than 35 years of international experience throughout the entire textile added value chain. His expertise includes business and market strategy, technology, restructuring and investment. Combined with his in-depth industry experience and wealth of contacts in leading international companies, OEM’s, institutions and brands, he empowers companies through transformation.

Giuseppe earned his master’s degree in mechanical engineering from ETH (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology). Starting his career in the industry in 1994 as a consultant for a leading American consulting company, he joined Gherzi in 1997 of which he is currently the Managing Partner, leading the consulting practice from Zürich headquarters.

Navdeep has 35+ years of international experience in the textile industry. His expertise includes strategic planning, sectoral policy, technology, supply chain and international trade and investment. With experience in over 50 countries, Navdeep has a deep understanding of the global textile value chain with access to C suite executives across the industry.

Navdeep is a Partner at Gherzi Zürich and leads the management consulting practice in Asia and Africa. An eloquent speaker, he has published about 100 articles in the industry journals. An MBA from Punjab School of Economics and Business, GND University, India, he is a Fellow of the Textile Institute, Manchester (C.Text FTI). Navdeep is passionate about delivering projects with a purpose.

Laurent has worked on over 180 consulting and M&A assignments in the textile industry over the past 27 years. He has been responsible for managing large-scale international consulting assignments along the textile value chain, relating to strategy, audits, feasibility, market and sector strategies.

As a partner of Gherzi Textil Organisation, Laurent contributed to the development of Gherzi's management consulting activities in Europe, India, Africa and South America. Previously, Laurent worked for Arthur D. Little in Paris, France, as a consultant on marketing and strategy assignments. Laurent is a graduate of the University of Rouen, France, and holds a master's degree in international operations as well as a diploma in management from INSEEC in Paris.

Karim has been active in the textile and apparel industry for over 30 years with involvement throughout the entire textile added value chain. His experience has spanned strategy, change management, M&A, finance, trade, marketing and manufacturing. On the mezzo and macro levels, he is also experienced in social and environmental sustainability, organizational development, crafting of national strategies, industry initiatives and sector studies.

Karim has operated in various geographies and has an extensive network of contacts across the globe and the various stages of the value chain. Karim is a graduate of the Business School of Cairo University with a Bachelor in management. In addition to his involvement in textiles, he is a successful entrepreneur and a member of several civil society organizations. 

Uday is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in building new businesses, leadership development, and sustainability initiatives. He has worked in industries including natural and synthetic fibres, chemicals, fertilizers, banking, textiles, and management consulting. Gill has served on the boards of several companies and non-profit organizations, contributing to carbon neutrality and energy transition initiatives. He received the "Lifetime Achievement Award" from CIRFS and WFC Dornbirn and the "Manager of the Year Award" from the Northern India Management Association. 

Currently, he is a senior partner with Gherzi International and a board member of multiple organizations. Previously, as CEO of Fibers at Indorama Ventures Limited, he built a $4.5 billion global specialty fibres business. His academic accolades include a Fulbright fellowship at the University of California. Uday is actively engaged with international industry forums and has a strong global network.

Mark Jarvis is the CEO and Founder of Textile IQ, a consultancy specializing in management support for companies across the global textile sector. His expertise spans market analysis, product development, demand generation, strategic partnerships, and revenue growth. Among his clients is Fibre2Fashion, a global leader in textile media and data-driven intelligence, where Textile IQ supports strategic development and business expansion.

Prior to founding Textile IQ, Mark served as Managing Director of World Textile Information Network (WTiN) for 18 years and held the role of Marketing Communications Director for Sony Consumer Products in the UK and Europe.

He holds a degree in Materials Science from the University of Bradford and an MBA from the Open University, UK.

David Uricoli is a Partner at Gherzi with over 35 years of experience in apparel manufacturing, procurement, sourcing, sustainability, and due diligence. A pioneer in corporate responsibility, he founded and led Ralph Lauren’s Global Human Rights Compliance department, establishing its ethical production framework. David specializes in ESG, sustainability, risk management, and regulatory compliance across the apparel, accessories, and footwear supply chains. His expertise drives supplier improvements and fosters lasting progress, making him a valuable asset to Gherzi’s mission.

Ettore is an Engineering Specialist at Gherzi Engineering Zürich (GEZ) with over 50 years of extensive and comprehensive practical experience in the design, supervision, and management of industrial engineering and logistics projects. He possesses deep expertise in techno-economic feasibility studies and the evaluation of industrial processes and competitiveness.

He studied at the Technical Institute of Alessandro Volta in Italy and later at the Technical Institute ITA in Switzerland, earning a master’s degree in Energy Engineering TS (Energietechniker TS). Ettore joined Gherzi in 1974, beginning his career in industrial planning. He currently serves as Project Manager of the Engineering and Logistics Department at the Zürich headquarters.

Throughout his professional career, he has received training in various areas, including project management (PM), combined heat and power (CHP), programmable logic controllers (PLC), industrial and building energy systems, logistics in trade and industry, and the optimization of production-related transport and warehousing.

Srija is a sustainability-focused consultant with extensive experience in sustainable trade development. She has contributed to initiatives that drive economic growth, job creation, and social equity in emerging markets, particularly within the textiles, apparel, and fashion industries. Srija specializes in helping businesses align with sustainability goals and has worked extensively with artisanal businesses and MSMEs to enhance market linkages and foster income generation.

Previously, Srija worked with the United Nations, leading sustainability-focused projects for textile and fashion businesses.

Ettore has over 54 years of experience in the textile industry—particularly in shirting, terry towel, and knitting—of which 19 years were spent as a technician and technical director, and the past 35 years as a consultant.

His areas of expertise include business organization and staff training, with a focus on both garment operations and worker development. He has worked as a consultant for leading textile mills in Portugal and Spain, as well as for numerous companies across Mexico, Nigeria, Brazil, India, Turkey, and other countries.

Ettore graduated as a textile expert from the Technical Institute (ITS) in Busto Arsizio, Italy. He began his career in 1970 as a technician in a hosiery factory, later working in a knitted fabric plant. He gained experience in the time and methods department before becoming head of preparation and weaving. In 1984, he was appointed technical director of weaving in several Italian textile factories. He joined the Gherzi Group in 2007, continuing his work as an international consultant.

Simon has over 30 years of international experience across the entire textile value chain. His expertise spans market strategy, processes, technology, and materials. He is involved in a wide range of projects for OEMs, textile producers, research organizations, NGOs, investors, and others—primarily focusing on technical and technological aspects.

He holds a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology), where he specialized in textile machinery and robotics. Simon began his industry career in 1995 with a Swiss-Italian weaving machine manufacturer, following earlier roles with Swiss textile machinery companies. Over 11 years, he held various positions in R&D, international sales, product management, and international co-development initiatives.

He joined Gherzi Zürich in 2006, where he continues to work as a senior consultant.

Razvan brings 28 years of experience in the textile and garmenting industry, with international expertise spanning over 22 countries across four continents. His technical proficiency in industrial engineering, combined with management and productivity improvement experience, is further strengthened by his work in digitalization and software implementations.

Razvan joined Gherzi in 2003, where he has since coordinated the team of garmenting consultants for Gherzi clients. He graduated in Iasi, Romania, as a Textile Industrial Engineer, specializing in clothing.

Rajesh brings over 30 years of extensive industry experience across structural design, engineering management, project management, quality management and audits, HSE design reviews, business development, performance management, strategy planning, training, innovation, and client relationship management. He has successfully delivered numerous projects in various capacities around the world, gaining deep expertise in structural design and international construction practices.

His commitment to professional excellence is reflected in his prestigious international qualifications, including Chartered Fellowship of the Institution of Civil Engineers, UK (CEng FICE), and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. These distinctions highlight his outstanding leadership and capabilities in both engineering and project management.

Herbert has over 50 years of experience in the textile value chain. He graduated from the Technical School of Zurich and began his career in the early years at the weaving machine company Ruti in Switzerland. Since 1974, he has been based in Brazil, where he spent 20 years as CEO of Santista Têxtil. His expertise spans the textile value chain, particularly in the sportswear, socialwear (wool fabric), and homewear markets. Since 2012, Herbert has been working with Consultoria Gherzi S.A., contributing to various projects across Latin America.

Anton is a seasoned expert in textile chemistry, nonwoven materials, knitting, and finishing, with extensive experience serving clients across the filtration, automotive, aviation, technical textiles, fashion, sports, and outdoor apparel sectors. His expertise spans supply chain management, production development, product development, nomination, certification, and marketing, with a particular focus on both linear and circular (sustainable) supply chains.

Since 2013, Anton has served as a partner and managing director at Gherzi Germany, a part of the Gherzi Textile Organization in Zurich, where he combines his roles as consultant, entrepreneur, and investor. His insights into innovative solutions and sustainable supply chain practices have made him a respected business partner and leader in the industry.

For over 40 years, Hendrik has advised companies and institutions on strategic planning and development. During more than 20 years with Gherzi, he has specialized in the fiber-based value chain, with a particular focus on technical textiles, nonwovens, and composites, as well as technology, business strategy, and mergers and acquisitions.

He holds a degree in Textile Engineering from Reutlingen Engineering College (Germany) and an MBA from INSEAD Business School in Fontainebleau (France). As Senior Partner, Hendrik supports the Gherzi Zurich team with his deep expertise in these areas.

Peter McDonald holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (Textile Technology) from Deakin University, Melbourne. With a career spanning over 50 years, he has contributed to a diverse range of industries including textiles, clothing and footwear, food and beverage engineering, processing, electrical engineering, and medical and health engineering.

He is the Chairman of Ramsay McDonald Group and Managing Director of Ramsay McDonald in Australia, New Zealand, and Vietnam. Peter is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Directors.

Lulu has over 15 years of experience in Accounting and Financial Management. She has worked for international professional service companies and financial institutions. Lulu holds a Federal Swiss Diploma (Eidgenössische Diplom) as a chartered specialist in Accounting and Financial Management. 

She has started her career in banking in 1998 and later decided to pursue further studies in accounting and financial Management. She joined Gherzi in 2017.

Ümit has a solid background in textile technology, with over 27 years of international experience — particularly in managing garmenting consultancy projects. He also brings expertise in project management, coordination, and planning of large-scale integrated textile and garmenting consultancy assignments in developing countries.

In addition, he has conducted feasibility studies for textile manufacturing plants, as well as techno-economic and restructuring studies for textile and textile machinery companies.

Ümit holds both a BSc and MSc in Textile Engineering from Istanbul Technical University. He began his career in 1996 at TDS, an affiliate of Gherzi Textil Organisation (GTO).

Marius Wolak has over 38 years of international experience in architectural and engineering design for all types of buildings and industrial plants. He joined Gherzi Engineering in 1987 and has since contributed to more than 300 projects, from planning to execution, across 14 countries worldwide.

He holds a Dipl.-Ing. FH degree in Architecture from Germany. In addition to his academic training, Marius has earned several professional qualifications, including Certified Construction Expert, Honorary Expert under German law, Energy Efficiency Expert for residential, non-residential, and historic buildings, and Safety and Health Protection Coordinator in line with the Construction Site Ordinance.

Outside of his professional career, Marius is an accomplished endurance athlete, having summited Europe's highest 4,000-meter peaks and completed multiple Ironman-distance triathlons. His passion lies in solving complex challenges and achieving goals with precision and dedication.

Yves holds a diploma and a doctorate from RWTH Aachen University, Germany, where he also completed his habilitation in textile mechanical engineering. His academic and research background includes work at Clemson University in the US and the Saxony Textile Research Institute (STFI), contributing to a 20-year track record in the development and production of technical textiles.

He joined Gherzi in 2019 as a consultant for the German office. Yves brings extensive expertise in textile production processes, particularly in the context of M&A transaction evaluations. He also prepares expert reports for international arbitration proceedings and federal ministries. In parallel, he teaches as an Associate Professor at RWTH Aachen University and TU Chemnitz and is actively involved in automating sewing processes with robotics.

Sunday has over 30 years of experience in the textile industry, both locally and internationally, with 15 years dedicated to consulting in the Cotton-textile and garment value chain. His expertise includes market research, Coordination & supervisory capacity-building programs in the Agro-allied value chain, such as Cotton, Textiles, garments and leather. 

Sunday played a key role in the development of a restructuring strategy for Kaduna Textile Nigeria, Strategic market entry for an international group for a work-wear project in Nigeria and Tanzania. His recent engagements include attracting FDI for Textile and garment projects in Ghana and the Ivory Coast, a Sector study for international development partners for the enhancement of cotton transformation in C4+1. Sunday is widely travelled and possesses a wide network of industry contacts. 

Sunday is a Senior Consultant with Gherzi and serves as the Regional Representative for the West African sub-region. A holder of an MBA from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. A fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Marketing and a member of the Chartered Institute for Textile, Clothing and footwear, Manchester.

Amir has over 25 years of leadership experience in account management, consulting, and business transformation, spanning textiles, chemicals, fashion, retail, and consulting. He has held senior roles at Zydex Industries, Gherzi Consulting, Anju Modi, Indorama, Woolmark, Tanatex (Lanxess), and Indokem Ltd. 

His expertise includes P&L management, go-to-market strategy, digital transformation, sustainability (ESG, circular economy), and stakeholder engagement. Amir has led 30+ international consulting projects, achieved 45% CAGR in sustainable textile solutions at Zydex, and driven large-scale growth and branding initiatives across global markets. 

He holds a B.Tech in Textile Engineering and an MBA in Marketing and has completed certifications in Circular Economy and Blockchain Technology.

Chandandeep Singh has more than 30 years’ experience in the textile industry and management  consulting practice. His expertise spans the entire textile value chain with a focus on strategy, supply chain mapping, man-made fibers, technical textiles and sustainability. He is also involved in organizational development, crafting of national strategies, industry initiatives and sector studies. He has a deep understanding of the textile value chain and boasts of a wide network of contacts in the industry.

Chandandeep Singh is Principal Consultant at Gherzi Consulting Engineers and is engaged in international and regional consultancy projects. During his professional career, Chandandeep has held senior positions in reputed corporates in the Indian textile industry. He holds a B.Tech (Textile Technology) from NIT, Jalandhar and MBA (Finance).

Pravin Vadambe

Pravin is the General Manager at Gherzi Consulting Engineers Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, with over 25 years of experience in the textile industry and management consulting. His expertise includes techno-economic feasibility studies, sector studies, international benchmarking, market analysis, technology and machinery selection, project planning, and operational improvement.

 He holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Textile Technology, complemented by a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with dual specializations in Marketing and Finance. He is also an Associate of The Textile Institute, Manchester, holding the  Chartered Textile Technologist designation (C.Text ATI). An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K), he further advanced his executive education by completing the “Advanced Strategic Management Programme” in 2023.

Since joining Gherzi in 2005, he has successfully led and implemented several international assignments for private and institutional clients including GIZ, IFC, UNIDO, Government organizations and private textile companies etc. 

Pravin has extensive exposure to global textile hubs across Europe, Asia, and Africa, bringing deep insights into industry competitiveness and growth strategies.

Sunit Kumar Kalra

Sunit has over 42 years of international experience across the textile value chain. His expertise span operations, processes, technology, and materials. He is involved in a wide range of projects for OEMs, textile producers, mill management, research organizations, and others—primarily focusing on technical and technological aspects.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Textile Technology from GCTI, India (Govt Central Textile Institute), where he specialized in textile technology. Sunit began his industry career in 1982 with a Spinning mill – Vardhman Textiles Limited, Ludhiana a world class yarn manufacturer, reaching to corporate technical officer role with Vardhman in short span of 15 fifteen years. During his career, he held various positions in R&D, product development, Operations head and Business head in national and international companies

He joined Gherzi in 2014, where he continues to work as a senior consultant.

Sunit brings over 42 years of international experience across the textile value chain, with deep expertise in operations, processes, technology, and materials. He has contributed to a wide array of projects for OEMs, textile manufacturers, mill management teams, research institutions, and other stakeholders—primarily focusing on technical and technological advancements.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Textile Technology from the Government Central Textile Institute (GCTI), India. Sunit began his professional journey in 1982 at Vardhman Textiles Limited, Ludhiana—a globally recognized yarn manufacturer. 

Throughout his career, Sunit has held key roles in R&D, product development, operations, and business leadership across both national and international companies. Since 2014, he has been serving as a Senior Consultant at Gherzi, continuing to lend his expertise to the global textile industry.

Suryadeb Mukherjee

Suryadeb, based in Mumbai, has 30+ years of experience in the textile industry. His expertise includes technology, operations, marketing and policy. With experience in operations, product innovation, supply chain and business development Mr. Mukherjee has a deep understanding of the integrated value chain for consumer and industrial textiles. He has been successfully involved in several projects relating to sector studies, synthetic fibers, technical textiles for institutions and industry. Suryadeb boasts of an international experience with clients in India, US, Europe and emerging countries. 

He is an alumnus of IIT (Delhi) India where he earned his B.Tech (Textile Technology) in 1993 and he also obtained Advance Diploma in Business Administration (ADBA) from Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research, Mumbai in 2016.

He has been a member of The Textile Institute, Manchester, since 2022.

Maria Miceli – Office Manager

Maria has been in the position of Office Manager at Gherzi Textil Organisation AG since February 2019 where she provides comprehensive administrative and organizational support to the management and consulting teams. Her role includes client reception, coordination of meetings and events, and arranging business travel for consultants and freelancers across all branches.

With over 30 years of experience in administrative work, Maria supports daly business with all her knowledge and expertise.

Before joining Gherzi, she worked for several national and international companies in various industries, gaining extensive experience in administration, reception, and back-office management. Her responsibilities included event organization, a wide range of administational tasks and travel coordination, as well as multilingual communication and customer service.

Vinod Krishnan

Vinod, a B.Tech Mechanical Engineering graduate from the College of Engineering, Trivandrum (1989), is a seasoned project management professional with over 31 years of rich experience in the engineering consultancy domain. He is a Certified Internal Auditor for ISO 9001, bringing both technical rigor and process discipline to his assignments. Currently serving as Senior Project Manager at Gherzi Consulting Engineers Pvt. Ltd., he is responsible for managing multidisciplinary engineering projects in the textile sector such as JAY JAY Textiles Lanka, STAR Sri Lanka, Trident Ltd, ARISE Benin, Browns Fabric Limited (BFL, Sri Lanka) and EFI, Burkina Faso. Vinod has also been an important part of the diversification projects (non-textile) at GCEPL such as Pregna International (Pharma) and Technip Energies (Oil & Gas). His prior tenure at M.N. Dastur & Company Pvt. Ltd. spanned 30 years, culminating in his role as General Manager - Business Development (Metals & Mining), after serving as Chief Engineer – Mechanical/Projects.

Vinod’s core strengths lie in client coordination, multi-discipline project interfacing, contract administration, and managing EPC-mode tenders and evaluations. His project portfolio includes major industrial assignments for JSW Steel, Hindalco, Tata Steel, SAIL, and SENAAT Abu Dhabi across steel, aluminium, and cold rolling mill sectors. He currently leads a capable team of engineers, working with tools like AutoCAD, MS Project, and other project management software. The team, consisting of 8-10 professionals, is adept at handling design, tender evaluation, and vendor coordination. Vinod has successfully led over 20 projects, spanning metals, mining, and textiles, across India and the Middle East.

RN Gupta

RN Gupta, a seasoned professional with over 35 years of experience, holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Construction Technology (1989) and a science graduate from Gorakhpur University (1984). He has a rich background in the civil design and execution of diverse infrastructure projects, including residential, commercial, institutional, and large-scale industrial and textile plants. His expertise lies in project management, tendering, vendor coordination, estimation, cost control, and multidisciplinary coordination.

As Assistant General Manager at Gherzi Consulting Engineers, RN Gupta has successfully led numerous high-value projects such as Baramati Hi-Tech Textile Park, CLC Textile Park in Nagpur, Shahi Exports in Shimoga, and Vardhman Fabrics and Yarn projects in Madhya Pradesh. His role spanned across project lifecycle stages—right from tender preparation to construction supervision and quality control. His earlier experience includes project management roles at Vigneshwara Export Ltd. (Vapi) and U.A. Babre Associates (Mumbai), where he managed projects for reputed clients like Siyaram Silk Mills and Pantaloon Industries.

Leading teams of up to 15 civil engineers and technicians, he ensures efficient use of civil engineering tools like AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, and MS Project. RN Gupta’s team is well-versed in structural design coordination, site execution, and PEB structures. His project portfolio covers over 75 + major industrial and infrastructure developments across India.

Haochen is an Associate at Gherzi China, specializing in market research and data analysis, he possesses exceptional information integration and report writing skills. Proficient in utilizing various research tools and data analysis methods, he can deeply uncover market trends and consumer insights, producing logically clear and well-reasoned strategic reports that strongly support business decision-making. 

Benefiting from his academic background and practical experience in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainable development, he excels at integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors into business analysis frameworks. This allows him to gain a more macro and forward-looking perspective on sustainable growth opportunities in the market, offering unique insights that combine economic benefits and social value in business practice. 

Haochen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the United States and a master’s degree in international business management from the United Kingdom.
